When organising to visit venues in Lake Como, I knew Villa Carminati Resta had to make the list.
Many of Lake Como's famous wedding venues are spread around the lake, meaning the chances are your guests will have a little way to travel in the morning, and back again at the end of the night - think Hotel Villa Cipressi in Varenna, Villa Balbiano in Ossuccio, or Villa Serbelloni in Bellagio.
Villa Carminati has been completely refurbished - from the main hall upstairs with view over the lake, to their sleek evening reception room, perfect to dance into the night.
Como weddings are just about the day-of either - when you invite dear friends and close family out to witness your wedding ceremony on Lake Como, it's a perfect opportunity to extend your celebrations over a few days. Villa Carminati would be perfect for a welcome event too - once your guests have settled into their Como town hotels, then can wander along the waterfront to the villa, to enjoy an evening of Italian food and wine paired with perfect company.
